Studio pottery vase with aqua green glaze by Tom Lochhead (1917-2005) who has been called "the godfather of Scottish studio ceramics". 
 
He was the first "studio" potter to set up north of the Border in Kirkcudbright and was a key influence in the development of Scottish ceramics. 
 
There is an air hole at the base of the vase, it is a decorative piece.
